Infection Control Policy

We aim to keep our surgery clean and tidy and we take all necessary efforts to ensure that the practice is safe for both patients and staff.

COVID-19

Due to the ongoing risk from COVID-19, we ask that patients help us to the best of their ability to prevent the transmission of the virus. When attending the surgery, we ask that patients:

  • Sanitise their hands with an appropriate handwashing agent before entering the Practice.
  • Wear a mask or other face covering at all times inside the Practice and the pharmacy, as well as outside the building when waiting with other patients.
  • Wait outside before your appointment wherever possible to avoid congesting the waiting area. If you require a seat or to be out of the cold for health reasons, please let a member of reception staff know.
  • Stay 2 meters away from staff members and other patients at all times.

If you are suffering from symptoms of COVID-19, do not attend the practice.

General infection control measures

We regularly carry out Infection Control and Hygiene audits at the surgery, and we encourage patients and staff to let us know of any issues which have arisen in the intervening time. We make all efforts possible to ensure that staff are kept up-to-date on hygiene control measures. We work to ensure that any Practice measures relating to infection control and hygiene are carried out in line with government and NHS best practices.

We encourage our patients to let us know if they have any concerns about our infection control policies.
